5:30-7PM Beginner 6 Week Series, July 10-August 14 Salsa Cubana, also known as "Casino," is danced individually, as a couple, or in a group. Rueda de Casino (“Salsa Wheel”) is danced among multiple couples via call and response. In this series, Rueda is used as a methodology to expedite the learning curve for any format and to introduce students to the world's most popular forms of dancing Salsa. Focus is on the individual dancer in connection with a single partner - in a collective context. Participants acquire skills in timing, body movement, lead-follow technique, space use, footwork, turns and combinations. Content retention is accomplished through exercise repetition, musical emphasis and having fun. Music is provided, video recording allowed and dance performance opportunity available.

They play high-energy dance-music in the styles of Salsa, Mambo, Plena, Merengue, Cumbia and Cha Cha Cha from artists such as Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Manny Oquendo, Tito Rodriguez, Eddie Palmieri, Johnny Pacheco and more.
