Ithaca Festival Parade, Thursday May 31 6pm along Cayuga Street: Palante will reprise last year's popular Comparsa Cuban carnival line dance as part of the Latino Civic Association parade contingent. All are welcome to rehearse and participate with us.
Ithaca Festival Performance Friday June 1st 6:45pm at the Bernie Milton Pavilion: Afro-Cuban Music and Dance: a 45 minute music and dance performance with interractive audience component.

Wednesdays 6:30-7:55pm. Dates: 6.6, 6.13, 6.20, 6.27, 7.4 This five week intensive series covers the fundamentals of timing, body movement, lead-follow connection, and basic step patterns and partner combinations. Students learn principles of Latin dance and musicality and how to incorporate this into Salsa dancing. Social dance practice with availability of one-on-one assistance is held at the end of each class. Music provided.

Classes are taught by Jonathan Kline and are open to all levels including beginners. Rumba, son/salsa, bembe, conga comparsa and other rhythms are taught on conga, clave, chekere, campana and palitos. All instruments are provided.
